    Arrow Who has Flash Tutorials?

I am interested in finding out how many hosting providers have "Flash Tutorials" on offer for clients.

I have some questions which if you feel like answering go for it:

    1. Do you use flash tutorials (Y/N)?
    2. Why do you/not use flash tutorials?
    3. Where did you purchase them from?
    4. If you are looking to buy what is your biggest influence on choosing a supplier?
    5. Do you think your clients would benefit from having them?

I am doing some market research for my company - i am looking at getting some tutorials and would like to know what others think first.

    Thanks Guy

    1.) Yes
2.) We thought it would be a good way for clients to find some simple "how to's" by themselves. And we can point them to the tutorials if they want a step by step on how to do something.
    3.) www.onlydemos.com
4.) Good rep, nice tutorial, good price (bang for your buck)
5.) I am a smaller host and have not seen much benefit yet, but I am sure as we grow they will be used more often.

    Good luck with your research.

    Answers to your questions.

    1. Do you use flash tutorials (Y/N)? Yes
    2. Why do you/not use flash tutorials? It allows our customers to get self help with out calling support or generating a trouble ticket.
    3. Where did you purchase them from? demodemo.com
    4. If you are looking to buy what is your biggest influence on choosing a supplier? Customization to fit your systems and policies. This is very important.
    5. Do you think your clients would benefit from having them? Yes we get emails thanking us for the "how to videos".

My advice; ask your customers if they want or need it.

    1. Yes.
    2. It's easier for the client to see everything with his own eyes than sending him a long boring message just to explain something. The client finds his answer to his question easier, resulting less work for us.
    3. DemoWolf.com
    4. The tutorials would have to be attractive for the clients, unique, not too long, but also not too short.
    5. Although nobody sent us feedback regarding the tutorials, the tutorials are viewed very often. I think this means less work for us - the clients would probably submit support tickets if the tutorials weren't available.

Yes. Two of them where named in above post. OnlyDemos.com and DemoDemo.com
If you are talking about competition in terms of amount of demos sold I would say that demodemo.com is up there if not the leader.

Awesome thanks guys for the help.

The main reason i am doing some research is i am looking at launching a full scale tutorial service. To start with just offering cpanel and whm tutorials (40 all up) for $19.95 . What do you think?

I am launching demodept.com in the next few days which will be a complete online store for demo's etc and we will eventually branch into Plesk, DNS, Email, etc and other control panels. Thanks!!!

I think $19.95 is very cheap for 40 tutorials, especially if they're also branded. If it pays off for you, I'm sure many companies will be interested in your tutorials.

    Good luck!

    1. Do you use flash tutorials (Y/N)?
    Yes

    2. Why do you/not use flash tutorials?
They provide a quick explanation of what we're trying to sell.

    3. Where did you purchase them from?
We got a couple of freelance guys to do the work for us. They did take a while to complete the job but the end result was fantastic.

    4. If you are looking to buy what is your biggest influence on choosing a supplier?
    Definitely ease of customization.

    5. Do you think your clients would benefit from having them?
Absolutely. Placing a small, easy to understand tutorial on the home page (and an option to view an extended version) has really improved our users first impressions.

Although I thought it was obvious what you where up to I still felt this comment was purposely misleading.

It depends on your target clients whether you want to use flash tutorials or not. If you are expecting newbies and less experienced flash tutorial will do good.

Yes, they have done so for 3+ years. We've spent $5000+ on flash tutorial movies and related items; they get more popular (usage wise) every month.

I'm not sure I follow your logic.... if you think providing flash tutorials will help your customers, why would you only do it after you have "more" customers? Is it an expense issue?

    1. Do you use flash tutorials (Y/N)?
    Yes
    2. Why do you/not use flash tutorials?
I think they are a fantastic aid for our clients.
    3. Where did you purchase them from?
    DemoWolf, http://www.demowolf.com/
    4. If you are looking to buy what is your biggest influence on choosing a supplier?
We looked at all the flash demo companies and for us, it was really a easy choice. Although they were all good, we felt the quality of the DemoWolf tutorials were by far a better quality then the rest. Very fast turn around! Very friendly service! Rob runs a great place!
    5. Do you think your clients would benefit from having them?
All I can say is we've received many, many "Wow's" from our clients for offering them. Even our clients that have been around awhile have leaned some things they didn't know about. Our tutorials have gone over so well, we're ordering more shortly!
