I run a popular site and am looking at purchasing another server to act as a dedicated mysql box.
This site runs on mysql and currently runs linux.
Related to this game are some IRC bots written in c# which need a windows server to run on.
My problem is, will a server which currently gets 150 queries/second be able to be run on windows?
Is there much difference?
I would prefer to have a windows server as i can then have the bots on there as well.
Also windows servers would need to be rebooted more often, i could reboot every 2 months. Do you think that would be enough?

yes you can use php mysql and make sure they do not have any system calls as in linux, your script can stop working due to that.
performance reduction is a part of OS in use, I think fedora handles multi processing in a better way when compared to windws. But that is a different argument . So performance is dependent on how many and the load that these files put on.
installation should be fine. But you should check on the insallation notes of xampps before the leap
finally a review, There are many reviews on this, but for your choice always go for server as it puts forward better management of services than the web version.
