    A New Perspective

“According to the National Coalition for the Homeless, in the United States, more than 3.5 million people experience homelessness during any given year. Of that 3.5 million, 1.35 million are children. That means that more than one percent of our population this year will be eating out of trash cans and sleeping under bridges.”

Hello all! After reading the book "Under the Overpass" by Mike Yankoski, our perspective of homelessness has changed quite drastically. We would definitely suggest you read this book. My wife and I are going to be participating in "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" in Muncie, Indiana. The Muncie Mission is in the process of building a new facility that will more than double the amount of homeless people they can assist. I would like to ask you to read the email we sent to friends an family on our website - www.thestumps.net - and consider donating to the walk online, or at least read our story! Thank you for your time!
