Hi, i want to use GD2 and ImageMagick on a Godaddy VDS.
I installed ImageMagick and saw logo.gif with root account, but PHP do not recognize ImageMagick.(convert logo: logo.gif)
Also idk how to install GD2. (i looked at tutorials, they say use yum, but yum command does not work)
Could someone help me?
I've searched net, i saw that GoDaddy never helps its customers for these subjects . I used to phone/mail to them, they offered me to use my favorite search engine.
Now, this is my war against GoDaddy, this is my legal right to get this info from them and i am now battling with GoDaddy Team. I wrote several emails to GoDaddy, the replies are not related to my problem, but i ll never ever stop to email them untill i get suitable answer.
If they send me no answer, i ll send same question several more times. I am sure i ll get solution from them but it will take my several days.
This is why i wrote here for help.
A VDS/vps is supposed to be like a dedicated machine. Unless you have a system like Plesk getting in the way, you are supposed to be capable of doing everything yourself, even if something like that exists you still should have the ability to work around it.
You need to install the ImageMagick RPM from your OS vendor. RedHat/CentOS distribute this.
It's not your "legal right" to get instructions from GoDaddy on installing ImageMagick unless they are offering a fully-managed service which states this type of assistance is included. There are many managed VPS providers on here who would be able to help you with this if you require this greater level of support.
Don't rag on GoDaddy for this, they aren't obligated to help out with such installations. Running a VPS means you have some level of knoweledge about Linux and server administration, and this sort of an installation should be done by you.
GoDaddy however will likely support you if the server is down, there is hardware failiure, etc.
