1924 vs 1924EN

Can anyone give me the real difference between a Cisco 1924 and a 1924EN switch?

Hy,

let me remember my Cisco config and sales time. The difference between a Cisco standard and enterprise edition switch is only the installed software.

The enterprise edition allows you to manage more switches easier and gives you a better performance when connecting multiple siwtches via FastEtherChannel.

More details about the enterprise edition and what are the benefits are here :

Greetings
Oliver

The only difference is software load. But I don't think you can install EN software on a non-EN switch.

Besides Fastetherchannel, you also get VLAN trunking and some other things - but only ISL, 802.1q tagging isn't support on the 1900 chassis.

Actually, you can install Enterprise software on all of the 1900/2900 series. The Enterprise software gives you more granular control over the switch. If you have a Cisco support contract you can buy a switch with either software, and download the Enterprise version from the website .

It allows for the CLI also. If you choose the regular one, you will just get menu based :0
