Need A Server in The Netherlands
I am looking for a server in The Netherlands. I know of leaseweb but are there any others? Any advice or suggestions would be great. Also are there any other countries who's laws are as laxed as The Netherlands?

Leaseweb or Quickred.nl(uses leaseweb datacenter) would be the best choice.

The content I want to host is adult content. From what I have heard The Netherlands has the most laxed laws on this. If there is anywhere else, please let me know. Thanks for your suggestions.

quickred.nl allows that from the looks of it, as long as the content is legal by Dutch and EU Laws

As for the "Leaseweb DC" reply, stop making up stories.
Leaseweb does NOT own its own DC. They make use of a couple of different datacenters in and around Amsterdam. They rent suites there, they do not have any own buildings, except their office.
As for providers, Leaseweb is not the only network in the Netherlands with decent prices. Just ask around and do some browsing.

You can try xs4all.com. They are in the Netherlands. I dont know if they have their own DC, I only know they had a booth at HostingCon2006 and seemed like nice people.

Hmm xs4all.com is not loading for me.
I have a few sites that need to be hosted offshore for reasons of the DMCA. That is why I was told to go to The Netherlands. Is there any other country? Thanks for the help so far everyone.

Hi,
I would say The Netherlands does have the most lax laws, German isn't far behind. What you have to remember is, hosts have the right to refuse you service for whatever reason. Make sure you check in details before you sign up, or you could be here in a few weeks time complaining of a hosts policy.
Good luck.••••• John Strong - SolidHost COO •••••

France isn't far being, if you search slyck.com or p2pnet/net for France or French, you will see how P2P is pretty wel tolerated there.
But yes, in The Netherlands, downloading from P2P or a similar service is considered legal if you do not intend to distribute the files.
And LeaseWeb.com is probably the best provider in the world for torrent site or linking to content. They host some of the biggest torrent sites, they pretty much don't care or look the other way. (I would link you to the sites but this is against WHT policy)
Canada is another place where P2P is well tolerated and practically legal (I'd never say something as such is legal) but most of their providers do not allow torrent or linking to content sites because of the extremely close relationship with the US.

France huh? I never heard of that one. I will have to look into it. Have you any experience with a French provider.

I just bought a French server from a guy reselling OVH.com boxes on WHT (because anyone whose not from Germany, France, Poland, Germany, and maybe a few other countries in Europe can't buy from them). He has a post on WHT if you're interested.
I used to have shared hosting from a guy selling off of a DediBox server. Though I wouldn't buy one as they are having MANY problems with their providers to the US and most of their servers are slow to the US (I tihnk they lost one of their bandwidth providers because of such high bandwidth usage amounts) He has now moved to a server in The Netherlands though. But some people on the box linked to stuff of questionable legality and they didn't seem to mind as long as you weren't hosting illegal files or using a ton of bandwidth I don't think they mind.
Though LeaseWeb is one of the only providers I know of that doesn't care at all about torrents or linking. Sweden used to be another good country but P2P was made illegal there in August I'm pretty sure.
http://www.ikoula.com/ seems to have good prices in France. I don't have any experience personally with them, though. Many people from France seem to like OVH. I would stay away from DediBox for a while at least though, and CTN1 also, if you search either of their names on WHT, you may find it hard to find a good review of either of them.
