GWDHosting was sold in around June 2006. The previous owner having set up and run the company for several years. I had quite a few sites hosted with them and the support was the best I have ever come across.
This suddenly deteriorated and over many weeks we discovered the company had been sold (I think the previous owner had to sell due to health problems). Support tickets were either not answered at all or having sent in several eventualy many days later would get answered. Always the same excuse that a new mail server was not working properly and support email was going into spam folder. For starters if that was happening, then surely the host checks his spam folder every day for genuine emails?
One of our sites would be down for a couple of days at a time, this would happen about 3 times over a few months. Never did we get an apology or a reason why, we never heard from support at all. We needed extra space but got no response and so no extra space.
I have now moved our sites elsewhere, but know people who have sent in cancellation of their sites yet are still getting their CC debited. Two people I recomended way before the sale of the company, signed up for hosting with them when their current expired. They signed up, paid but couple weeks later no login information, no hosting.
Doing a whois got new owners name, further investigation produced another website he owned along with email and phone. Neither get any responses.
If you go to gwdhosting (.com) and check out the link to the testimonials page, you will see about 2 pages going back to September of what is happening.
Does anyone know the owner? Or can make a suggestion as to how I can actually get contact with him and find out what has gone wrong and what the future holds for this company.
I sent you an email with some info I was able to dig up by doing a whois search then a cross check through whitepages.com - I got a different first name, but same last name and address that is in the whois and also a different phone number.
Yes, the original owner was great. No matter what time of day or night support was answered within 5-10 minutes and he would not leave you until the problem was solved. Most times it was not even a hosting problem but a design problem. I have found new hosting now, but still trying to help some clients who host with them get some money back.
I don't know why the new guy even bought the company, maybe just wants to rake in the $$$ and not put any work back in.
