Paypal: No subscription payments today on Jan 12 ??

Today on Jan 12 I did not receive any Paypal subscription payments. Does anyone have the same problem ?

My account appears to be in a proper status etc. It has not been suspended etc. Just didn't get the daily subscription payments.

Paypal is going crazy like hell over here. Customers are reporting they have received 11 emails confirming their payment today. Obviously Paypal has issues today. My customers are receiving 11 confirmation emails but I do not receive a single payment. Anyone else having problems ?

Yes, I had the same problem! No subscription payments and I usually get 5-10 per day. Not sure if my customers got emails. Emailed PayPal but no response as yet.

If you have the same problem I guess it is a global issue which means Paypal will deal with it quickly unless they want to lose customers. They had this problem before about a year or two ago. In this case it took 5 days for them to resolve the issue...

I did submit a support ticket as well and am waiting for an answer, too.

    It's still bugged.

Myself and a good 4-5 other parties I have spoke to all cannot send money via their PayPal account. Furthermore, I have about 30+ tickets open right now from people saying they've been charged 10, 20, 30, and (some) 100 times -- yet there are no payments sent to us from their account.

In fact -- two people have specifically stated that they now have over $1500 in overdraft fees from their bank because of the charges from PayPal.

I did receive the subscription payments yesterday. But I too had customers reporting they were charged multiple times. I really hope Paypal will pay the damages to the customers. I assume this has caused millions of Dollars of damages to Paypal users worldwide and Paypal has to pay it... I really they are not going to try and make us (the sellers) pay for the damages.

By the way, Paypal did respond to my support request telling me that there was no problem on their end and that I probably just didn't have any active subscriptions (which is complete ******** and they could have seen that by looking at my account).

I just called PayPal -- problems with "Send Money" and "Subscriptions" as described, have been confirmed.

I too, hope that they pay for damages... amount for us already adds up to over $5,000. At the same time, I do not believe there is any sort of SLA -- so I doubt they will.

If they have caused the damages they are legally responsible to pay for them. No SLA is required for that ! You can not just charge a customer 100 times and then refuse to pay the overdraft fees.

However, we will probably not be compensated for the payments that we can not receive right now. I.e. if we lose customers because "Send Money" doesn't work.

Not to mention all the time we are going to have to put in trying to explain to our clients that we did not charge their account 100 times, and we really aren't the devil incarnate, and are not going to be the subject of their lawsuit, ect, ect, ect... and we are as much a victim of this as they are.

hell i spend more hours than needed already trying to explain that to them as it is. . . .

Well it's not our fault of course but imagine you check your bank account and realize that you were charged 100 times + you now have 1500 Dollars of debt due to overdraft fees... No surprise that they are pissed. This is the worst bug Paypal ever had. Just think about the people who are not going to be able to pay their rent due to this or who may go out of business because they can't pay their business bills anymore. This is just a horrible nightmare and Paypal really screwed up badly.

Same thing happened to us. Both scheduled subscriptions from us outwards and to us inwards just didn't happen on the 12th. They were carried out today, however.

    New Update:

They apparently can't talk to me now because I have an account manager -- who I must talk to in order to deal with these issues.

So I call him and he's not going to be back until Wed. Sweeeet. Looks like I'm going to be continually screwed over and over until Wed. I wonder how much money it will take before I decide to sue them... hummmm....

A bajillion dollars, because PayPal isn't a bank and they don't offer any guarantees.

We've been having issues paying via automatically generated invoices by Mbill for a few things. We can receive and send money without a problem though.

I am really pissed off... I am trying to resolve the issues for my customers who were charged multiple times but when I send them a message all they do when responding is to send a standard response that shows they didn't even read my message. Like when I told them my customers were charge 15 times for the same subscription they told me how I can log in to my account to refund payments. Then I responded and said that the multiple payments were not credited to my Paypal account so I couldn't refund them. This time they explained how I could log in and check the status of my subscription...

I really wonder what's up with these guys. I have been requesting an invoice for the Paypal fees LAST MAY !!! They keep telling me they are working on it. They have been doing this for 8 months. I'm really losing patience. I have paid them over 15.000 Dollars in Paypal fees and they can not even send me an invoice or respond to easy support requests....

I have come to the conclusion (in my rather limited mental capacity) That PayPal's current stance on this issue must be one of "If we don't acknowledge the issue, then there isn't really a problem"

With that said, I do believe that not only my clients, but the folks i work with, have a little different view of it than that...

For example, I have now put about 10 hours into issue resolution for our client's, this is not to mention the additional time by any of the other 8 or so staff members on our team... if each of them only did 10 hours, that's 80 hours (minimum) support time that we've had to expend because of PayPal's screw-up. Does anyone here really think that for one single second paypal is gonna belly up to the bar, and pony up for these expenditures? I certainly don't, hell look at guarnibl's conversations, they went from talking to him, to passing him off to his "account manager", and at one point i think he said they basically called him a liar...

just for the sake of "knowing" i did a little g00gl3 search, and found the following articles relating to this latest fiasco associated with paypal.
    Article 1.

Yup, that's right, not a single thing about it in two differently worded google searches... rather curious i think...

ok off my soap box now... i think maybe i should wipe the dust off of scamz.net

    dot, dot, dot

My guess is that this issue only affects very few customers. I.e. all customers that are connected to the same database server. That may be the reason why we do not find anything about it in Google. It may just have affected a few hundred sellers.
So far I had two customers who reported they were charged 20 or more times for the same subscription.

I had a little conversation with SB from paypal yesterday, he stated that there was indeed a problem, but that the multiple charges were only "authorizations" against the client's accounts, and that they should be dropping off shortly. I got a hold of him on the phone after writing a two page response to the generic "we had a great year" email that was sent to us. He read the response, and was a pleasant enough guy to talk to, He even told me he would write up a generic disclaimer that we could use as a response to our clients who were still having, or were coming in on the tail end of the issue.
While he didn't address most of this issues i mentioned, he did say that there were quite a few people affected, and that he was VERY busy trying to get everything straightened out.

anyway... i guess it will have to suffice that someone there actually admitted there was an issue.
