    Chicago Colo out there?

Anyone got any picks on datacenters in the chicago area?

I am looking for cost efficiency here, but I dont want crap bandwidth since these will be used as gameservers/voiceservers...

Any companies can PM me with info, or people can post their picks, everything is appreciated.

I am looking to send initially a Midsize tower, then not too long after a 1u server...

    So cost means alot here.

Thanks in advance! Cant wait to here from you!

Check out steadfast, you can find Karl on these forums.

They have a very solid network that would work well for you

Midsize tower.... hm... I don't mean to be offensive but it will be very difficult for you find unusual colo provider. As far as I know Unit servers are usual.

I can do unit servers as well... I just have one on hand that a customer wants to locate in chicago, so I was seeing if there was a possibility...

I looked at steadfast, and I dont like paying for services A la carte... I would rather pay one price for bandwidth and a server... then show prices for overages...

I dunno, ill wait for more posts..

    Thanks!

yes.. i have searched google... but usually there are some really good deals on WHT, that and companies that people highly reccommend, and thats why I posted here...

I know all about google... but the sites shown on there have a la carte pricing or extremely high pricing...

    Hello,
We also highly recommend Steadfast Networks - Karl has been excellent to deal with, and their support is top notch.

    I'll second RackmountMicro.

Steadfast Networks is the way to go.

I'm not sure if they will do mid-size tower though.

You might also want to check ServerCentral. Their prices may be a bit higher but it's rock solid.

I'll third (or fourth) steadfast. If you contact their sales department you can get a quote for basically anything you want.

I'm in the same boat looking for a solid colo provider in downtown Chicago. I've already dropped Karl a line, but would still like to hear any other suggestions for the area. Do any of the big DC's offer competitive pricing for 1/2 or full racks?

ServerCentral.net is the best in chicago. you can't go wrong with them. they're not the cheapest but they're the best.

Check out gigenet.com/coloquest.com. They recently opened a new facility in Chicago and have an outstanding network for gaming. Their prices are very reasonable as well.
