    VPS resource question

I would like to know what is the best VPS plan for a phpBB forum.

Here is the plans i am looking at

    384MB Min RAM
    1536MB Burstable
    equal share of CPU

    or

    512MB Min RAM
    2048MB Burstable
    equal share of CPU

The forum has around 5,000 members. In peak times it can have more than 100 users online. Most of the time it has less than 50 though.

The transfer is around 40GB a month right now and it is on a shared server.

Which one of the VPS plans above is best for this usage? Both of them may be an overkill but there is also another small site that uses around 5GB of BW and uses phpnuke.

    Thanks

I would go for as much RAM and CPU as possible within your budget.

Can I get some more feedback please on which plan would be better for this forum?

You could always ask the host if you can upgrade in future and try the cheaper option to start with. Then if your website runs slow you can get your plan upgraded.

of course, you can always as the host whether they have a forum hosted, then you can go have a look and test out speed etc.

iFastHosting has good reviews around as I see and offers easy upgrades.
