If you need to show that you have verified your Identity as opposed to a simple [email protected] email verification I'd stick with Comodo.
If you just need to encrypt the data with no signing verification, a self signed cert is good enough.
So you've never really had to interact with their support team ....
why would you need to? They just email you a cert, you set it up yourself. There really isnt much chance of them screwing up. Its usually just the end user messing up the install, which isnt their responsibility.
