Advice on upload script for file hosting
Can anybody recommend me a PHP based file upload script for creating a file hosting service for the users on my forums? The space on the server is quite limited, and I have plenty on other hosting (servage) so I want to create a free upload service. Anybody know of a good script? Thanks for any reply...!

doesn't really matter, as long as it's affordable. I tried the second link, it didn't install properly on my PHP5/SQL5 setup.... Now I'm trying the first link.

I browsed the net a bit, but there doesn't seem to be a proper file hosting script that has a mid-range price like $25,-.

Hello,
I am havving a custom one coded for me right now.
I will probably sell licenses but it will be more than $25, it is extremely packed with features though.
So if you want a really high quality one let me know.
It is designed for PHP and MySQL,
Will see if I can get it ported to use other databases

amygdela,
What exactly are you looking for? I've written my own upload script it's open-source actually and available on my website. It's non-databased reliant, however i'm in the process of rewriting the code to make it more efficient. (It doesn't rename uploaded files right now... thats the only major draw back.)
Other than that, you can limit file types, sizes and the header + footer.
I'm not sure when I'll finish the new update which will give it a new design and renames uploaded files << The renaming really has me stuck right now.
If your interested in the open source script you can find it at http://mambug.com/scripts.php██ Jordan G.

Hmm.. All the more features I need to implement into my script. Best of luck on your search Amy. Oh yeah and when I'm done with all of my commercial designs, I think I'll get to work on a commercial-style upload system like what your looking for just for the fun of it. Me or my staff, it sounds like a fun script to make and own.

Be carefull mate to use PHP script on servage, they will savage enough to use this magic word "server high load , memory and cpu resource problem" if you have about 400 visitor a day and above 100.000 clicks they will suspend your site withouth say a word, just the magic word above !

Also you MUST ask for the script's security when you buy/implement it. Because uploading files to your server may be VERY harmful.

Actually, uploading files isn't too bad, unless the script runs as root (which would never happen as it's ridiculous). But still do ask about the script's security as there's a can of worms there.

The users of the file upload servers are all known people from my forums (it's a very humble community ) and the site will be built to be only accessible for registered members. The script I'm thinking of buying is the one from http://www.dumpplaats.com/ (Yep, that's Dutch ).
