I was wondering if anyone here ever used an online service such as lulu.com to publish a book of theirs. How was it ? What service do you recommend ? how was the quality of the printout, etc.
I'd like a hard cover and the book is aproximatly 35 000 words long with no pictures except for the cover.
I'm not going to disclose what it is about here but if you want more information don't hesitate to send me pm's
thanks for your time.
Can be difficult if you dive in without reading, studying, reading and again reading their tutorials.

Although not required, it is IMO better to order yourself a copy of the book before making it available to the public.
We (my brother and I) have used lulu to publish a book. I think they are the best POD publisher on the market.
Let me know if you have any questions about them.
well my main question is about the quality of the product. How does your book compare to other books you can buy in a library.
No complaints about the printing and binding. I do not know about the quality of the printing for color images.
A little off topic......How much does it cost to publish a book? Can you have just one published? Thanks.
with lulu.com yeah you can have just one printed if you want. you pay on a per-book basis, no minimums. visit their site for pricing info, it's rather cheap.
The quality is great. Just as good as most books you find in bookstores. You can't have color images within the book (the cover is in full color) but that's not a big deal in my opinion.
POD is definitely the way of the future...
The hardest part of self-publishing is marketing the book
I don't plan on marketing it much, It's my first cycle college thesis about societal chaos and liberalism not much market for those essays.
