I own a few sites of my own, some of which have messageboards on them. As much of the audience for my sites is US based I'd like to add proper legal disclaimers about the content of my site and the messageboard.
Can anyone tell me where I can get proper legal wording for these disclaimers, without just copying & pasting from other sites. I see no point in copying another site's legal statement as theirs could be inappapropriate or full of holes legally.
I hear what you're saying and I could hire a lawyer to write me one here in the uk, maybe a specialist with international experience so that it meant something abroad too. The trouble is, that would cost me more than my sites make in a year!
Are legal statements subject to copyright? What's to stop me just copying and pasting from a big popular site that has spent the money to have a disclaimer written up by a lawyer?
