    Weather in Sydney & Auckland

    Hello all,

I'm thinking of going to visit family in Sydney & Auckland next June. It's the only time I can really get off University and I can get a good price for it, but I don't really fancy spending £800 on flights and then I get there to constant rain. It will feel like I never left home!

I understand it's your winter in June but what is the weather generally like? Do you get much rain? Will I need to pack my coat? What's the temperature like?

I've looked at a few "stats" for the average temperate but you cannot beat an opinion of someone who's lived there!

I've been to Sydney (not Auckland) before but it was December so the weather was a bit different

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Kemik

I live in Auckland & I will try & answer some of your questions.

Yes, you will need to pack your coat, (The amount of rain we get is hard to say as every winter it is different & some winters are wetter then others)

It will be cold over here like 12 -15°C (We don’t get any snow up here), but we can have mild winters so the temperatures can very each year & the stats should give you a far idea what is normally like here.

Take for example last June the weather here was very bad (the hole of Auckland even had a power cut!)

Imo the best think for you to do is do a search of these news sites here in NZ for weather related stories & you may get an idea on what the weather was like here last June.

I Hope this helps & sorry I could not give you more info, but our winters can be fickly some years.

In Sydney it's typically 16 - 22 c as a max temperature and overnight lows around 8 - 12 at that time of year. When I lived there I lived on the coast, it gets a lot colder than that in the western suburbs away from the coast.
