looking for host for podcasting needs.

    i've got a friend who runs a podcasting business and needs a host that fits these criteria. let me know if you can recommend a host;
    1. Needs to be on Linux.
    2. Has to allow SSH access.
    3. Must be able to host multiple domains on the 1 account.
    4. prefers a dedicated IP.
    5. Must have unlimited MySQL accounts.
    6. A minimum of 100GB diskspace and 1000GB transfer.
    7. I must be able to create separate FTP accounts, a minimum of 5.
    8. I need unlimited subdomains.
    9. Must support php, java, tomcat, apache.
    10. And doesn't want to pay more than $25 per month. Preferably in Canadian funds, but open to paying in USD

Have a look at dreamhost.com, they have 197GB of disk space for you

But I guarantee you'll need a server for this

Recent posts on the Dreamhost forums looks like people requesting Tomcat, but doesn't necessarily say rather DH has added it yet.

I do believe Hostgator offers Tomcat, but I agree with yupapa, you should be looking into a dedicated server.

We use dreamhost and also do podcasting. It's worked out pretty well since most podcasts don't take up a lot of space.

lol. don't shoot me- I'm just the messenger. I agree with everyone that a dedicated server is most likely needed here and I will relay that message to my friend. but still want recommendations. thanks again, guys.

Do you really need Tomcat? JSP/Servlets is not a very commong request.

I'm not completely sure if the friend needs JSP/Servlets. I guess it's more of a precaution than anything else

For what you are asking for. You won't find a good host. I would go with a dedicated server or a high end VPS.

A minimum of 100GB diskspace and 1000GB transfer.
Are those random numbers or actually realistic?

You may also find it beneficial to get a dedicated server due to the nature of podcast downloads and the common policies on shared hosts. Once the new podcast is released there's usually a huge spike in requests and bandwidth. This is assuming the podcast is popular, though at a 1TB/m traffic criteria I would say its safe to assume it is popular to some degree or another.
