Maybe I did contribute so how to this community! Anyhow, I would stay away from Choopa for gaming. In my experience, they are a little hit and miss. You can't go wrong with RazorBlue in New York. We're there now and they have an awesome network for gaming. Contact Dan for the best deals - dkitchen[at]razorblue.com.
As for Steadfast, we are with them as well. They have a truly great network and the support to back it up. Their dedicated offerings are truly great as well. GigeNet is good for gaming, however they are still taking loops outside the city, so their pings times are usually higher. If thats a concern, I'd take a look at Steadfast.
Texas wise, for dedicated, I'd say ColoGuys or Softlayer. Both have very good networks for gaming. Softlayer tends to run some awesome dedicated deals, I'd take a look in the forum here for that.
That makes a great deal of sense, however from our testing, steadfast networks is still better. Plus Steadfast has more carriers, doesn't have cogent on the premium(I will never use them for gaming). GigENet is great, I've toured the new facility, but for the most part, you can't go wrong with Steadfast for the lowest pings. And if you don't believe me, feel to PM me, I'll be happy to give you a test server . We do game hosting only, its our speciality
