This thread explains it.

"This will be on a one week trial basis. We will revisit the decision on January 8, 2007. "
So if WHT does back to the old way then they will not go back to our old Post counts after the trial period?

We'll revisit the decision means just that. But, yes. In all likelihood, if we decided not to go with this system, we'd just go back to where we were.

Personally I do not care as I have never started a post in the Advertisement section. I can see form my post count that I very rarely contribute to this section as my post count only went down 20 or 30 post.
I just do not understand how restricting post counts in the Advertisement section is going to help with the perceived problem that reducing post counts will accomplish any objective. Of course I not even sure what the objective is? Is it to stop people from just posting their 2 cents on the advertisement forum and not contributing to the rest of the forum? Is it to have the advertisement go to a fee base? Is it to get better quality advertisement? Is it some how suppose to punish or take way credibility from people that just post in the advertisement forums.
I do care about WHT, I just hope it continues to be a fun place for all with as little bureaucracy as possible.Last edited by music; 01-01-2007 at 10:44 PM.

The removal of the post count removed a substantial amount of bureaucracy, because now we don't have to evaluate, prune and warn people for inflating their post counts. A whole mess of moderation has been lifted from the community. Members, new and old, are free to post all the .02 posts they want. That's more freedom and less rules to abide. Isn't that what people want?Studio1337___̴ı̴̴̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡̡.__Web Design0

How does post count change the sincerity or quality of a post? You can have 1 or 1,000 posts and not be sincere. I just do not see how changing post counts will achieve any meaningful reduction in non-sincere-posts.
You might end up getting the people you are trying to get rid of just posting on other sections of WHT so they can then post in the advertisement. In the end this will create even more work and more meaningless post in the other sections of WHT.
It might just be wishful thinking that messing with the post count will stop people from just posting their 2 cents on the advertisement forum.
I am sure it is a lot of work editing the forums and deleting lots on un-sincere posts, but that has nothing to do with bureaucracy.

I believe I lost about 10 or 12 posts and I could care less but I am curious as to why since I know for a fact that I have never posted in any of the advertising forums. I have it ticked so I don't even see the ad forums.
