Advertising Forums post counts update
Beginning January 1, 2007, all posts in the Advertising Forums will no longer count in your displayed Post Count total.
This will be on a one week trial basis. We will revisit the decision on January 8, 2007.
Any privileges gained by your current post count will not be affected.
Feel free to post any questions or concerns. There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.0

Make the ad section for paid ads only. Inet is always so eager to earn a quick buck, I'm surprised they haven't thought of this yet.

What web site reviews / domain appraisals? Those posts should count.

The paid advertise section sounds great, but with the pricing that WHT has for stickies would have to drop dramatically.

The paid ad forum sounds like a good idea but the post count does not. Why would you waste your time changing someones post count? It's absolutely meaningless.

Nick H from earlier in this thread is a great example - although there are many which are much worse - 1000 posts but 430 from the advertising forums. Hopefully removing the counting of advertising posts will also encourage people to post more in the main forums, contributing to the WHT discussion (if they feel the need to reach certain targets, as Nick does ).
We will hopefully be able to see some positive effects within the first weekLast edited by SoftWareRevue; 12-29-2006 at 09:28 AM.

This is why rules such as "no posts saying you have emailed/sent a PM" etc... exist.0

Anyone can still find how many posts they have, or how many someone else has.
Simply search for all posts by [membername] on the advanced search page.
We're not taking away posts. We're only changing the way they're displayed (or not). There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.0

Yeah I would agree with Jeff, besides $20 is pretty cheap for an ad in any case.
