I need to register a account over at cisco.com to download new updates/software for my switch, but I am having trouble.
I have purchase a cisco switch over at provantage.com.
You need to also purchase a cisco smartnet contract which will then let you download the IOS updates and such. they typically start at $200 .

I always personally thought that the having to pay for updates to the IOS was pretty lame. Cisco products are already pretty expensive, and not necessarily for the hardware, but maybe a bit more for the brand imo.
