I'm running a Windows 2003 server behind a Comcast supplied SMC router. I have a static IP and I have registered a domain with Godaddy.com that is properly forwarding to my static IP.
I can access our web site whenever I connect from a network outside the office where the server is located. But when I try to connect via our external IP address or domain name from inside the same network as the server I get pointed to the router.
I am assuming that this is default behavior for such things, but I'd love to be proven wrong. Either way I'm looking for a workaround so that I can connect via the external ip address.
I need this sort of access because there are scripts from our other web server that point to the local server's domain name/external address.
