    is my cpu enough ?

    Hello ,

We have bought some new servers as we always just host shared/reseller accounts so we dont have that much experience with vps ... im just wondering do you think my cpu will be enough to host 8 vps ??

Intel Pentium E6600 Core 2 Duo
    4 GB Ram DDR2-533
2x SATA II 250 GB HDD

what i want to do is host 8 vps (512mb ram each) ,,, but im not sure about the cpu ?? i have ran a test on one of them and the result was :

Start Benchmark Run: Mo Dez 25 02:27:22 CET 2006
    02:27:22 up 6 min, 1 user, load average: 0.10, 0.04, 0.01

End Benchmark Run: Mo Dez 25 02:37:52 CET 2006
    02:37:52 up 17 min, 2 users, load average: 12.47, 5.63, 2.54

Your going to need some ram for overhead, I'm not familar with VPS configuration myself but I've seen 256 quoted before for Xen.

CPU should be fine, I think.

A Core 2 Duo 6600 is more than 8 times as fast as a 1GHz PIII, so your VPS users should be pretty happy.
