Okay evertime I export my databases its okay. However everytime I log back into phpmyadmin to restore my database it gets really slow when I paste the code in the "SQL". Any tips on how to optimize performance when pasting the Database Code I copied from the "export"?
Even opening the .sql file is so slow in dreamweaver. But it kills my browser the most.
You could try http://www.turboajax.com/turbodbadmin/, but it's not really to do with phpMyAdmin, its just because most likely your upping and running quite a big database file.
Also instead of opening it in dreamweaver you might want to use textpad of something else similar.
Its not my hosting, its more of my browser. Everytime I paste my database on phpMyAdmin (note: I dont even have a chance to press the Go Button) SQL, it freezes up for a few minutes. My database is roughly 4mb big.
It's because you're adding a LOT of text to the text window.
Browsers are not meant to submit large amounts of data. when you do that it will freeze your pc window until it's complete. But most times you'll find it's going to time out anyway.
PHPMyAdmin is not meant to be used to import a lot of data. you should be using the command line to do this, or contact your webhost and ask for help. It will take a few seconds to import through the command line.
FYI it makes no difference if you try pasting, zipping, or uploading a sql file. the end result it they have to import the same amount of data and that's where your problem is.
