Server to Server File Transfer Question - WGET/FTP etc
I am transferring large files within multiple directories from one server to the other.
The files are on a publically viewable (by IE) directory like this:
I can use wget to get all the files within each directory, but is there a command to wget all files within all the directores. ie. www.xxx.com/dir/*.* ? At the moment it wont work
Likewise if I try to use mget in FTP I have the same problem, it will get all files within one directory, but wont go another level further and get all files in all directories.
Try to use the follow command:
wget -r --tries=10 http://www.xxx.com/dir/
But it means http://yoursite.com/dir/ must has index file with links to files.
Yeah -r sorted it thanks, but it creates all this annoying files like index.html?M=A in each directory
If you have ssh access on both servers, use scp:
host1# scp -R [email protected]:/path/to/files /path/to/files/on/host1
