On my cable connection, I'm getting about 12-15 KB/Sec downloading a file.

Average 12KB/s from London UK on a 512kbs cable line. Thats pretty slow, I normally get connections upwards from 60KB/s to 100KB/s all around thw world.

I can't download anything due to software restrictions at the 9-5, but the page took about 15 seconds to load, and i'm on a t3. Might be something to look at.

Actually with web pages I don't really notice the difference in speed between 512 and 1024. However for downloads/uploads the upgrade is well worth it

Oh phew, ok. Don't do all to much uploading/downloading to really bother, nice to know its available should I need it one day. Do they make you sign another 12 monther?

No, they just make you keep your existing 12 month contract, not a new or extended one. However they do make you keep the 1Mbit service for 2 months, then you have the option to downgrade to 512kbps again.

Fairly slow coming off the Rackspace network in Texas.

    Code:
    [root@server1 root]# wget http://vaughnetc.ezrackspace.com/media/globes_win.rm
    --22:30:10-- http://vaughnetc.ezrackspace.com/media/globes_win.rm
