What Could Cause This Problem?
I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me if I have posted in the wrong area.
My current host seems to have a peculiar problem at the moment. Everything seems to be working **except** ftp, and (support).
I can log into my WHM panel, see the sites attributed to my account and even create more ftp accounts, but I simply cannot get into my sites via ftp.
Any ideas? My (host) isn't responding to my emails, so I have no clue what the heck is going on. I am losing money because of this problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Windows XP firewall is a very common factor in this. Try disabling it and try to use your FTP program then.
Has this ever happened before? It's certainly weird that FTP is the only thing that's stopped working. How long has it been down? And how long has it been since you contacted support?

Is the server using cPanel? try checking on the left the server status and see if FTP is up.
tbonekkt- Thanks for the reply. I tried turning off Windows firewall, but it still isnt working. I had my ftp program listed as an exception also.
GlobalWebDan- No, this has never happened before today. And I had used it earlier this morning. I also fired up two other ftp programs that I own and they cannot connect either. It has been down nine hours at this time.
Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.
Looked under server status and it reports ftpd up...
Host not answering your emails. I think it is time to switch hosting companies.
Hi mohamoud ,
Yes I do believe so.
I have even sent emails to his personal email, but the inbox was full.
So I must not be the only one having server issues.
Thanks for your comments,
Do you get any error message when you try to login to FTP? or the FTP Daemon is just down?
Time Heals All Wounds.....
And apparently server issues as well.
Works just fine this morning, but still
not a word from tech support.
Guess the server just didn't feel like
Thanks to all who responded.
Glad its working now. Not glad that the host hasn't answered yet.
That's kind of scary. There wasn't any notification of the HTTP outage or a response from tech support?
