*** Profitable Windows Client For Sale! ***
I have 1 good (and very profitable for you) Windows client for sale.
General Information:
- Reason for selling: Holiday cash
- Client has been with us since 2003
- Client runs a legitimate and legal adult e-commerce store
- Client prefers credit card or Paypal payment
- Client is currently hosted on Windows server 2003.
- Client needs SQL Server 2000 (Workgroup or higher editions)
- Client needs 1 dedicated IP for SSL
- We use Helm but client is not tied down to Helm.
- Client has been notified of pending sale.
- Current resource usage: 1 website. 401mb disk space. 38mb of SQL space. 12gb bandwidth.
- Customer purchased the following package: 5 websites. 3gb disk space. 100mb SQL space. 50gb bandwidth. 10 email addresses per website.
- The only support requirements for client are uptime and helping him with setting up a new email address once in a blue moon.
- Client is on a shared server not a dedicated or VPS server.
- Client pays $125/month and renewal is on the 3rd of January.
Sale Information:
- I reserve the right to cancel this sale at any time before payment is received.
- I am looking for a quick sale so I am looking for something close to 10 months of revenue (negotiable).
- Payment through Paypal only. Transfer will begin immediately after payment is received (You will get immediate FTP and SQL access - We will have to coordinate a near zero downtime DNS transfer since it's a live site).
Happy Holidays!

Client did not purchase 5 websites each using the above amount.
What he purchased is 5 domains using a combined quota of 3gb disk space, 100mb SQL space, 50gb bandwidth.

Sale
Do you have any additional information on this?
How long has he been with you?
Does he have any current contracts?
What about payment history of the client?
It seems very risky to put up 10 months of revenue for a client that could leave at any time.

I will attempt to answer your questions:
Q. How long has he been with you?
A. Since July 2003
Q. Does he have any current contracts?
A. No contract. Month to month.
Q. What about payment history of the client?
A. I can provide proof of payment from the client. From when he used to pay by check (he is a local client of mine) to the most recent Paypal transaction.
Q. It seems very risky to put up 10 months of revenue for a client that could leave at any time.
A. This client has a successful e-commerce store that has been around for more than 3 1/2 years. He is a master of marketing and selling but he has absolutely no clue how the internet, webhosting, even setting up an email account through a control panel works. If he is treated right (minimal downtime and a 6-12 hour response to a request to create an email) he is not going anywhere. He doesn't have a developer working with him that will "point him" to another host (because I am the one that customized his code for his shopping cart). You take care of his hosting needs and I will take care of his ASP coding needs. With those two areas covered, he is more than happy to sit and process his orders.
I hope that helpsHost, YES!

50 gigs / month is not a lot of bandwith for a porn site? Do you have any idea how many customers he has?

Pardon me for saying this but I don’t think the 10-month rule applies to one account. More likely the minimum should be at least 10 accounts for consideration of 10 months worth of revenue. I think the reasoning is obvious. With a minimum of 10 accounts even with reasonable turnover one can still hope to recoup acquisition costs. But with only one account, well that would be a tragic and painful loss.

TCP/IP Warrior ,
Thanks for answering the questions, I do have to agree with OC on the 10 month rule because it is only one client.
Do you have an NDA though so I can see who we are dealing with?
(the website hosted)
I am very interested and think we can come up with a good deal.
Another question of course is, what is the reason for sale?| ServerHub | an INC 500 Company | Enterprise Dedicated and Cloud Solutions Built for Scale |

jhost,
Reason for selling: Holiday cash
You can fax it to (952) 674-3727 or email it to alexm [at] hostyes dot net.
ObjectCoder,
You have a valid point for regular shared customers often found here at WHT and other similar places where there is a big turnover.
If you are going to go with statistics though, the probability is higher that you will lose 10 $12.50 accounts over a 3 1/2 year period than maintaining a solid proven account with a track record of 3 1/2 years with the same host.
I do need to make a correction to you though. This is not a porn site sir. It is an e-commerce store that is not advertised in any TGP or similar venue.
It's traffic comes from good old traditional SEO and well placed targeted marketing at major search engines.
The images on the site are mostly of "objects" not nude people and the thumbnails have all been optimized to less than 12kb and the larger images to less than 40kb. That's why bandwidth use is so low.
With well targeted marketing, the site does not have more than 400 visitors per day but it's conversion rate of over 30% (that's huge on the internet) brings the client a healthy profit because the average sale is $65+.
Thank you both for the input as I always welcome an exchange of ideas

Warroir,
Thanks for the clarification. I was keying in on the reference to "Adult Theme" with out having access to the entire picture. I agree with you a 3.5 year proven client would likely a very nice addition to an existing portfolio.
