I want to make a website kind of like Digg.com and Imbd and I was wondering if there was a somewhat open source solution. My goal is to create reviews on many training videos of sport. People write up their reviews, rate it in a 5 or 10 star scale. Then other people can “digg” or rate its usefulness with a thumbs up or down. So then the order of the most popular with thumbs up is shown in front page on above the ones with the lower ones.
No, which is why you didn't get any responses. You can use programming frameworks to develop this kind of site, but that's only 1/3 of the work that went into designing the very individual databases, interfaces, and behaviour of the sites.
There are very few open source scripts for this right now. And the ones that are free aren't very good, you're far better off designing your own because these types of rating sites are very unique depending on what type of media you're rating. So you'd want to design it around the media (in your case the videos?) you want to be rated.
