    UK Reseller Hosting

    Hello,

    I'm looking for the following:

    5GB - 6GB Space
    150GB - 180GB Bandwidth
    £8 - £15 /month ($15 - $32)
    £0 Setup Fee
    Private Nameservers
    UK Based servers

Free billing panels don't mean much to me as I've got an owned WHMCS license and love it

At the moment, I'm looking at ResellerZoom but feel free to give your recommendations.

    Thanks.
    Sean

Ask people here how many would recommend going with a hosting company for an entire year and see the majority answer.

I agree, I wouldn't purchase hosting on a yearly schedule. Yes you may have some providers that would refund you your remaining but not alot (if something were to happen.) You can find UK providers all over the offers section here on WHT that do have month to month hosting plans.

I've always thought that one should lay out only money that he can afford to lose, or is otherwise ready to face the consequences of losing them. This applies to paying monthly, yearly, and even to lifetime hosting.

UK hosting is generally more expensive, you may want to take a look at Xilo.net

By looking at our stats, I'd say lots and lots to be honest.

WHT is not indicative of the market by a long long long way. Too many people wanting everything for $1, then moving when they get burnt and it doesn't work out - So there are bound to be a very high proportion of people who will tell you not to pay for a year.

WHT has 151,000 members - that's a tiny percentage (Not even approaching anywhere near 1%) of the total hosting market and as I say, WHT is biased towards the bottom of the market (It didn't used to be).

Well, since you brought it up after I tried to stop myself from dragging it on. I was going to say,

No. WHT is a majority of hosts just like you, who understand the frustration involved in ordering yearly. Such as, what if the host runs out of money? What if someone requests a refund, and the funds are not there to refund him his remaining amount? What if you get a series of refund requests and you can ony pick and choose which one you can refund, and tell the other ones to wait.

How many of these "bottom-feeders" as you call them, do you think are going to wait for their refund instead of doing a charge back?

Think about that part of it.

Bottom-feeders? I don't recall calling anyone that, I said at the bottom end of the market, you can call them as you wish, but don't attribute things to me that I didn't say.

Any host that can't manage to refund a customer part way through the year, has far more problems than worrying about taking yearly payments, even if it's 10 or 20 customers - and if we're talking about high value accounts, then any sensible host will have the customer on a legally binding fixed term contract.

I do apologize. I made a mistake while reading the post too fast. I'll admit fault on that one.

As far as the rest of it goes. I guess we'll just have to chuck it off as perspective. Because I don't think either of us will agree. So, best left to "person's point of view".

    Agreeable?
