Have you tried editing /etc/proftpd.conf and seeing what the full line in the config says?

    Hi,

Open /etc/proftpd.conf and enter the following values above the line "AuthPAMAuthoritative on"

    AuthPAM on
    AuthPAMConfig /etc/pam.d/ftp

Also, make sure that a file named /etc/pam.d/ftp exists

    Hello,

please check the line 64 of /etc/proftpd.conf because it is say that the error is on line 64 so check it first

    Thank you.
