No Japanese language skills are necessary.
It's full time work, and we honor Japanese holidays.
Any other questions, let me know

Hi Vertical7,
One question probably didnt came out clear enough from me. I try again.
Is the company a Japanese division with basically close to 100% japanese staff, work environment (holiday, overtime regulations etc.) or is this more a subdivision of an american company with almost americans (US holiday and US overtime regulations etc.) ?
I hope this makes my question a bit clearer.
F.e The name Laura Kishimoto is half Japanse and half Foreign, which tells me that this person is probably an american who got married with a Japanese partner.
Best regardsLast edited by valentin_nils; 11-14-2006 at 09:50 AM.

The company serves American and other English speaking markets exclusively. We do not serve the Japanese market. However, the company is located in Japan and as such we honor Japanese holidays and employment laws.
I hope this answers your questions.

So you are saying that it is a japanese work environment ?
Allow me to drill tthis down a bit more.
1) Is f.e John Scott the Boss ?
2) Or is the boss Japanese ?
3) Whats the Japanese / Foreigner ratio within the company ?
4) Which languages do you use IN the company for communication (regardless of clients) ?
Best regardsLast edited by valentin_nils; 11-15-2006 at 05:54 AM.

Hi wheimeng,
good question ;-). When you are thinking about getting a long term work and you consider having to travel 2 hours by train (one direction) then you start to ask those questions BEFORE you even consider writing CV's and traveling for Interviews which are sometimes finished after 10 minutes because of wrong expectations from either side ;-)
The reason why I ask about the Japanese environment is often that whats advertised and what you get is usually 2 different worlds ;-)
One famous example: worktime adv. as 9-5 and what you get is more like 9-10 (depending on the company), if you add then on top that perhaps you have to travel 2 hours one direction then you start to ask those questions, believe me ;-)
I am sure John Scott or whatever vertical7's real name knows exactly what I am pointing at when I posted above questions, while others which dont life in Japan may find them to be suspicious. That is because they have never work in Japan for Japanese companies ;-)
I am sure V7 Inc is a nice company. If I see that correct they are probably 20-30 minutes away from Shibuya (Tokyo). They have a very big forum and a lot of members, I am sure working for them is an interesting experience.

Hi Vertical7,
thanks for the reply. That makes things clearer. This time I do believe your office might be to far for me to commute to on a daily basis. ( I am EXACTLY on the opposite side of Tokyo).
However, I do see the potential you provide to potential new employees.
Good luck !!__--- Nils Valentin ---
