    Upgrade Mysql


    We are running mysql 4.0.27 and we wanted to upgrade it to 4.1. Is there any safest method to do it? If you can priovide the steps would be appreciated.

    Depends on what your running and what OS.

    Running centos/RH

    download the RPM's and use rpm -Uvh mysql*

    Other OS might need to compile from source.

    Actually you don't even need to download the RPMs to install them.

    rpm -Uvh works fine.
