Looking for West Coast Dedicated Dev Server

I am looking for a dedicated server on the west coast.

The server must have Windows 2003 Standard and at least a 10mbps connection to the net. This server will primarily be used for development. Managed hosting would be a plus. I can take care of my own server, but I have never been successful in installing a mail server and having it work 100% so if you could get that up and running, that would be enough to win me over.

I'm looking to spend somewhere in the ballpark of $150 per month.

If anyone could make any suggestions or anything, that would be great! Thank you.

As much as I can get at least 100 gigs/mo, would be nice to just have an unmetered 10 or 100 mbps line though.

If you want exchange running on it you'll need Windows SBS 2003, not Standard edition, and the licensing cost for that along is in the hundreds by itself. I would recommend finding a budget server provider and have a 3rd party install some other kind of e-mail system. Note that there are not many, if any, good AND free e-mail server solutions for Windows 2003.

Since your budget is pretty low, you might be better off colo'ing a server somewhere.
Buy the server, then do the install yourself.

What kind of hardware you got in mind?

Staminus is in California and has celerons for $99/mo , and windows is another $15 or so on top of that.

I'm sure if you talk to Matt, he may be able to work something out to get a mail server running on you.

If you got AIM, message "TORO 00"

Hiya Mike,

Take a look at: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=569510 , I have never used WebNX myself, but they have superb pricing and are located on the West Coast. I've read good things about them so far, so it might be worth your while to take a look at them.

Good luck!
