    * unable to chmod as root : Operation not permitted

    Hello ,
    i am trying to edit authorized_keys of root but seems is write protcted

    i tried to chmod but its showig :
    chmod: changing permissions of `authorized_keys': Operation not permitted

    Use the 'stat' command to see the file permissions, make sure the file is not immutable.

    IE: 'stat authorized_keys'

    what you mean ba saying make sure file is not immutable ? if its immutable so how can fix this ?

    thanks prohacker after a little searching i found it :

    chattr -i authorized_keys
