OOhhhh, just yesterday I pranked my son. He takes his DS to school (he's 10) despite the fact he is told not to and that he's in a lot of trouble if he gets caught. When he went to bed it was on the charger. In the morning after he left, it was gone. So I go up to his school when I know he will be out of the classroom (second period) and goto his class. 5 teacher's were in there. I get his backpack and pull 5 games out. Their reaction was neat "oh those are expensive" , "If we had known.." etc, etc. Then I pulled the DS and the further reaction was even funnier. However, what was funniest was what they agreed to go along with. I took the DS and all the games, including one that is his brothers game, which he didnt have permission to take.... and took off with them.
He was in tears most of the day and the whole bus ride home. He was scared to death. He was busted that he took it to school because now it was "stolen". He got a lite spanking not enough to hurt physically but enough to hurt his pride since he thought he was too big for them..... then he had to do ALL our normal daily chores (mine, his mother's, his brother's). Once he had everything perfect and spotless, I told him he could have his DS back.
He was like HUH??? I told him what I did. He said that was freaky. He never expected me to bust him like that. He asked if the teacher knew... yup, all the teachers went along with it. I told him that next time, it will be worse. Next time, I will take my paddle to school and discipline him there in front of all his friends (not that I would, but as long as he thinks I would, that works..lol).
He said he learned his lesson, that he tried to be sneaky, and got busted in a way he never expected. He thought once he safely got out the door, he was clear and safe. Uh, nope
I told him it was a life lesson. Next time it might not be Dad that steals it... There's rules for a reason..
