I am running exim on a godaddy dedicated server, well attempting. Pretty much the worst decision I ever made was to use GoDaddy but I have to live with it for the current time.
Essentially they have a relay server that you need to send email through. In Exim you can use a smarthost. However I have been unable to send email through their relay as I get the following error:
(real emails taken out) [email protected] R=smarthost T=remote_smtp: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>: host k2smtpout-v01.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net [188.8.131.52]: 553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts.
Essentially I have come to the conclusion that this is indeed a login problem where I have to authenticate with the relay server. Has anyone done this?
Yep, I have had that section bookmarked for a while... However the people over there won't part with the authentication settings.. nice huh? I have been told by the support people they do not know what it is.
