If you are not a client, don't you have to pay to get on hotel's property? True or not? That's what I heard..

I have seen it many times, and yes -- unless you are staying there, it costs to get in.

However, its too glitz and bling for me. It doesn't have the hotel ambiance/feel. People are there just to be seen there.

Great power place for business meetings

How much did you pay for the night?

    Something i find amazing is:

There is no exact data about the cost of the hotel, but rumours say that the return of investment could be 100 years

I saw a program about the hotel on Discovery. They said they clean the cars every 10 minutes (of which they are all Rolls Royce)... And everyday the import flowers from Thailand...

    Luxury at its best...

I liked the Palm Island concept very much. I dont know how it is there but I would love it if the sea is shallow and people could just wade around or swim.

It's the only 7 star hotel in the world.

That circle floor top there is not a heliport, take a look at what it is.

Underground floors walls are made of glass. So you can see the under sea!

    It is a helipad.

Celebrities appear daily at this hotel, Andre Agassi had a tennis game with Roger Federer on the helipad, and Ronan Keating made his video clip at the same place.

it says "7 Star Self-Declared" so does this mean it is not recognized?

$2,000 is not that much for this type of hotel, I thought its like $5,000 or something.

I've been into that hotel for meetings, but never stayed the night. We stayed at the Al-Bustan Hotel (http://www.rotana.com/aspx/Hotel.aspx?HotelId=8) every time we went over there. The Executive Suite's are amazing, and I would say underpriced compared to a lot of the other hotels (US$860/night).

Dubai is an awesome place, and hopefully going back there for a bit longer early next year. Maybe it will be 4th time lucky on not having to come back!

To keep objectivity, the hotel is officially 5 star deluxe.
Not sure what that really means.. DOes it mean Dubai's seven star rating = World's five star rating ?

The Royal Suite costs $28000 per night.
