    * Unmotivated renewal e-mails from namecheap ?

    hello fellow WHT users,

    A few weeks back I transferred a domain out of Namecheap, but I keep getting renewal notices form them also the domain is with a new registrar.

    ---
    Dear xxx,

    This notice is to inform you that one of your domains is expiring
    soon. Please act fast and renew the domain as soon as possible. If you
    don't renew your domain it will be deleted and will be available for
    the public. Details of the domain are provided below.

    <snip>
    Domain Name : layerdnet.com
    <snip>
    ---

    Whats might be their motivation doing this ? Did I miss something ?

    PS: I did send an e-mail to their support stuff which was unanswered for at least a week by now.

    Best regards

    Nils Valentin

    it's quite common with several registrars. It's an automated email. It's caused by the domain not being deleted from their database after the transfer has occurred. You can remove domains which you've transferred away from NameCheap by using their Synchronize feature. It will delete all those dead domains from your NameCheap account.

    Like Stu2 said some time ago: 'sending email to registrar is pure lunacy'. You should have used their online support form...

    All my domains are long transfered away from them.
    I could tell you a joke about UDP. But I'm not sure you would get it!

    Just open up a support ticket requesting they delete the domains no longer in your account. You will of course need to name the domains. Usually they do this for me within 24hrs.

    I second Stu about the support ticket. RF database is somehow corrupted and does not sync by itself, keeping all your transferred domains there. Just pray they aren't on auto-renewal.

    RF software does delete already transferred away domains a few weeks after the (useless) renewal notices. My last three, that were moved in June, expired in November and are now no longer listed in my RF account ;-)

    I got a few "important" email messages from RF this morning, but there was nothing in the message other than something like Dear %custfname%. The link just took me to the RF homepage.

    Never mind -
    I just logged in, they were moved into the "expired folder", I never look there anyhow...
