I can't believe I just now noticed this!
I assume the little checked box that appears to the left of the topic has been on WHT for years? I just happened to mouse over it and discovered what it's for. All this time I've been cursing WHT because there was no "go to first unread post" button or text link and all this time it was right in front of me. Oh my!!!

It gets even more embarrassing, I have several SMF forums and have never noticed that they have a similar feature.
