    In which cases "named" makes the CPU overloaded?

    named is a service asscoaited with bind if I'm not mistaken. Have you tried restarting bash?

    If you have alot of DNS requests then "named" could use alot of CPU. There are many factors involved in the amount of DNS querys, TTL being one of them.

    Do you do a large amount of DNS querys?

    Make sure your DNS server does not allow recursive queries, someone could be abusing it :
