Which version of Apache/PHP/MySQL should i use?
I plan to run a handfull of Wordpress and phpBB sites (with heavy traffic) on a dual opteron dedicated box. Webmin will be used as control panel. I wont be hosting any client sites on the box (the box will be dedicated to hosting only those sites)
Which version of Apache, PHP and MySQL should i use?
Note that almost 100% of the content served will be PHP pages.

The latest versions I would probably use apache2 or possibly lighttpd depending ont he scalability of the projects. PHP5 should work fine, some people say not all code is suported but I havn't really seen many problems with scripts such as phpbb and wordpress.

PHP5.2.0
MySQL5.0.27
Apache2
You should need APC or eAccelerator to accelerat your PHP scripts.

With version i actually meant -
Apache 1.3 or Apache 2.0 or Apache 2.2
PHP 4 or PHP 5
MySQL 4 or MySQL 5
Will lighthttpd be better than Apache for Wordpress and phpBB (might move to vbulletin or bbpress later)?

There is no problem with upgrade, but may be something wrong with downgrade occasionally.

If your application supports it, Lighttpd and MySQL 5 are both certainly the way to go...

Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5 likely your best option.

I'd say, apache 2.2/mysql5/php 5.2.0 also.
Lighttpd is good for images however in most other cases apache 2.2 will be the better choice. Everyone is going to have their own thoughts but that would be mine.

Apache 2.2 properly configured can go head an head with lighttpd when processing php in my opinion.

lighttpd is faster simple as that, apache is just a bloated memory hug
(sorry im my opinion on the matter is highly biased due to previous bad experience with apache and great experience with lighttpd)
