    virus =/


    Lately, ever since a week or two ago, EVERYDAYYYYY ive been getting funny emails with messages like

    "Hello,This is a funny website
    I hope you would like it. "


    "Klez.E is the most common world-wide spreading worm.It's very dangerous by corrupting your files.
    Because of its very smart stealth and anti-anti-virus technic,most common AV software can't detect or clean it.
    We developed this free immunity tool to defeat the malicious virus.
    You only need to run this tool once,and then Klez will never come into your PC.
    NOTE: Because this tool acts as a fake Klez to fool the real worm,some AV monitor maybe cry when you run it.
    If so,Ignore the warning,and select 'continue'.
    If you have any question,please mail to me. "

    Or just blank msgs with attachments, attachments being a .htm and .scr, or .exe, .pif, etc

    i mean what the hell

    Why am i gettin this garbage everyday? atleast 2-3 emails......

    i never open the attachments
    my point is, this is the first time ever that i've actually received so many in just 2-3 days

    its happening everyday and its starting to tick me off

    for anyone that is curious, yes, i have virus scanned, twice lol
    i am fine. according to mcaffee =/

    IS this happening to anyone else.....

    i have 3 email accounts
    1. a hotmail
    2. my local isp one
    3. and for my domain

    i run my own mail servers (qmail)

    so its for smtp/pop
    i use outlook express for my domain mail.

    ive been getting this garbage to my [email protected] -- but not my local isp, or my hotmail..... why? is there something special they have so they dont get junk?

    does anyone know?

    Probably best to filter all emails with attachments into a folder.

    Don't know if you saw my other message a few days ago but i got an email very like that although i'm sure the message was something like "I just wish you would like my new website".I never got anything off it though.

    I've been getting at least 3-4 of those e-mails every day in my hotmail account. I've scanned my computer over and over with virus scanners and nothing ever shows up.

    It's really irritating and they take up lots of space, too, at 100+K each. Gotta erase them every day or hotmail goes crazy with the stupid limits thing.

    There is an island of opportunity in the middle of every difficulty. Miss the island, though, and you're pretty much doomed.

    i've been getting full of viagra emails, thers an unsubscribe option at the bottom but, i don't wanna use it, coz it might be another hoax.

    I have been getting 2 virus's per mail box a day. However they just get deleted. This is problably the fastest spreading virus i have ever seen.

    Only 2-3... Wow...

    I usually get approx 10-30... Although I do have about 30 e-mail addys... So...

    I guess thats 2-3 for me as well

    I finally got a virus scanner this month... I've been getting more then 10 virus' per day. The worst thing about it is that I used to think that not running attachments or saving would do the trick.

    But a mistake was bound to be made, many times outlook opens when clicking on an email message asks you to either open or cancel. When doing it more then 5 times a day, you just might press open one day.

    Now that I have norton, as soon as I open Outlook it informs me that I have downloaded multiple virus' almost every email check.

    Very annoying!

    I work as a computer tech in my town, and I see atleast 1 Klez virus infection each week...sometimes as many as 2 a day. I use Mozilla 1.0 as my mail client so I dont have to worry about virus running on me when I open up strange e-mails (even though, I rarely do). Also I must say Norton 2002 (works on Win 95b - WinXP) is one of the best out there.

    My problem is I have to deal with 15-20 new people every day. I wish more people realized they had these viruses!

    I work as a Network Admin and get a Klez warning message about 5 times a day, ive learnt to ignore it now, all mail is scanned at the gateway anyways. - Fast Professional UK Web Hosting

    You guys aren't alone. I've received over 60 viruses since the 8th or this month (June). NAV was able to quarantine all of them, so I think my computer is safe. But, still, there's nothing I can do to stop them from coming in, unfortunately.

    NAV can quarantine a lot of them but it can't remove/restore/delete some of them. An example is the Klez worm that started this thread. is the best place to go when you get a virus and in some cases the specialty tool required to remove the virus.

    For those of you who get the Klez virus, make sure you take the file out of quarantine (if it's there) before you run the Klez tool. Yes it means that your machine will be temporarily reinfected, but the Klez tool can't detect the worm if the file's been quarantined by NAV. I learned this from fixing a client's machine and it's not on the Symantec site; nevertheless, it should be done.
