NFS service.. any security issue?
Hello,
Right now I have few servers and each server is taking backup on local disk.. however, I am trying to get extra copy of backup via nfs..
so I am going to prepare one extra server for backup and run nfs and let other servers to remote-mount space...
is there any security hole with nfs service? I install and start nfs service on box, what I need to harden on nfs part? or just fine to start and open port on firewall?
Is there any other recommanded remote-backup solution?
Thank you.

nfs is not very secure afaik. You could use it with trusted servers. FTP and rsync are the other possibilities.

rsync+ssh is a good method.
