first you have to UNLOCK the domain, get the Transfer Code from ******.com and then initate a transfer.

BUT, as far as i know you can only transfer at least 30 days BEFORE the domain expires! so I think you have to RENEW first before you transfer away...
normally a transfer takes 3-7 days

And never do things at the last second. Unless you don't care about the domain name.

And I couldn't transfer to regfly for a few months now. I try and I try!

and you probably try www.namecheap.com instead of registerfly (you can read a lot bad things of reg.fly in this forum here)

I think you will have to renew first at ******. I don't know ****** ToS but many registrars (not all) don't allow a transfer away in the last week just in case there are problems with the transfer. It would be safer to renew your domain first. With all the bad publicity Registerfly is getting, it's a wonder anyone would want to transfer to them. (except Stan of course)

Renew your domain with ****** and then transfer it later.

I think you should wait 45 days to make sure you do not lose time after you renew
