I have a domain registered with Yahoo. Yahoo support has created my own nameservers like ns1.<mydomain>.net and ns2.<mydomain>.net using IPs provided by my VPS provider.
I am getting the following messages when I tried to point my nameservers to these.
It appears that the following host(s) are not connected to the network
This might result in registrar errors while processing this change. Click [Submit] to continue and attempt the change or [Cancel] to cancel the operation.
Do you have some sort of domain control panel at Yahoo where you could check this?
Have you tried a whois or dns report to check whether they actually exist or not?

I suggest going to the license registrar of the domain. Yahoo is a reseller of domains from a registrar. What you can do is go to the registrar, login there and change your nameservers directly onto your domain.
To find out who your registrar is you need to do a whois look up. Try www.whois.ws
