I don't enjoy the military brain washing me very slowly into thinking that going to die for my country is the right thing to do. Any other suggestions? No game people here?!

Mechwarrior 4 (It's about 5 years old now, but still pretty good).

I just finished Hegemonia (space RTS). And there's always Stronghold 2, you get to build castles with it.

Its the one thing I like about windows as there are plenty of games to play. My personal favorites are Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, CounterStrike, Age of Mythology: The Titans, Swat 4 and soon i'll be getting Age of Empires 3 and Battlefield 2.

    FPS:
    Counterstrike Source
    BF 2142

    RTS:
LOTR BFME2 (the expansion just came out)

The sad part is when I learned the EA rules for becoming a licensed partner I vowed never to buy their games again. Considering 66% of the games on that list are EA made, I failed.

When I worked full time for my GSP, we tried to get a EA ranked server license the requirements are as follows:
Must run 10 public ranked servers - so thats 2-3 servers pushing atleast 20 meg between them.
Then for each 10 servers you sell you have to host another free one.

Back when www.fragnservers.com was just a start up, that number BLEW me away.

Hosting a AA honor server is worse, between 1,000 and 5,000$ startup fee, then its 20-40$ PER server you host.

A bunch of GNAX customers are gamers, one day soon we will throw a lan party in the customer offices

I would suggest Guild Wars, its (one of?) the only retail MMO games without a monthly subscription, the pvp is amazing and it doesn't require time dedication like WoW, and even if you do want to spend a lot of time playing, it doesn't really get old.

If you're looking for an FPS, for online games, check out Counterstrike and Day of Defeat Source, if you want an offline FPS, F.E.A.R. and Doom 3 are both great games.

On the topic of WoW, I didn't really like it personally because of how much time it requires to be "good" at the game, but its all personal preference, a lot of people like playing for long periods of time.

Theres plenty of good Windows games, so I'm sure you wont have a problem finding one you like eventually.

RPG Multi-player: Guild Wars (no monthly fees!)
RPG Single-Player: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (with lots of add-ons )
    Realtime strategy: Company of Heroes
If you have to operate your company behind the scenes or under a fake name, maybe it's time to leave the industry and start something fresh.

I am familar with Age of Empires in fact back in June of 2003 I went to their headquarters in Dallas, TX to play Age of Mythology: The Titans before its release. If you like RTS ( Real Time Strategy ) games then you would be interested in the following.

    Age of Kings
    Age of Empires 3
    Age of Mythology
    Command and Conquer Series
    Starcraft
    Rise of Nations

I was just about to post CoH up as a recommendation! Such a great game. It really adds a new level of strategy to mix in comparison to C&C and the such.

    Games I enjoy on Windows:

    * Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight (with Squakbox)
    * X-Plane (needs a decent graphics card to truly enjoy, one of the most realistic sims ever made, its certified by the FAA!)

    * World of Warcraft (although this is getting boring now) -- this is a MMORPG

MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game

Other games that I have played briefly:

    * Rakion
    * Gunbound

Both are free, and are great fun -- especially Gunbound

I wish I had the horsepower to play Company of Heros; amazing game. Tried the demo on my friend's machine and was hooked.

    Battle For Middle Earth 2
    Civilization 4

    FPS:
    Counter Strike
    Half Life 2
Garry's Mod (Super fun to mess around in.)
