Position: Software Engineer

The Engineering staff supports a number of diverse applications for internal and external customers including our three service departments, Registration Services, Financial Services and Member Services. ARIN Engineering supports publicly available services such as Routing Registry and WHOIS as well as DNS services for portions of the arpa domain.
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our development team. You will be expected to contribute to team efforts to develop new systems and support legacy systems. You will be responsible for developing applications from initial concept through to requirements, design, coding, testing and roll-out as well as maintaining applications in response to new functionality requests. You will be required to follow industry best practices and company development standards.
As with many small companies, you will frequently work independently, so must have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff. We are seeking candidates who possess the ability to write high quality, object-oriented, reusable, efficient code and provide troubleshooting and daily operational support of their work product.
* Minimum of 3 years experience.
* Software development experience with Perl, C, XML, HTML, Apache, Ajax in a Solaris or Linux environment.
* Experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably with Oracle and/or MySQL.
* Experience using source control systems, preferably Subversion.
* Experience adhering to industry and development standards.
* Degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent work experience.
Familiarity with ARIN, its mission and Internet number resources.
