The rules state that hosts can't post offers for thier own services, nor contact members privately for the same purpose. Recommend a host you've had experience with...not your own or someone you work for, m'kay?

Hi there,
It depends what kind of forum you have? How much bandwidth do you use? How much space? How many simultaneous users do you have online? How many posts per day? Etc...
No doubt the server you mention will do the job, but 4 GB RAM sounds a bit much just for a forum.
The dual hard drives is a good idea though, as you can use it for a backup drive.
I'm sure if you check out the offers section, you will find something suitable.█ IceBlueHost | Premium Quality Hosting Solutions

Enough for your forum?..
It is hard to answer without knowing informations about your forum..
woow your forum should be 1000 online and 50000 members with that server
What will you do with that big server? :/
With a good management, lower servers would go good too..

Wow, more than 1000 online at the same time? That sure is a huge forum!
Well, the server you specified should do the job, as I said. And the 4 GB does sound a bit more interesting now that you've mentioned how many members you have online.█ IceBlueHost | Premium Quality Hosting Solutions

Well, the one you mentioned yourself sounds fine to me:
* Intel Xeon 3060 Dual-core processor 3.06Ghz
* 4 GB RAM
* 2 x 80GB Hard Drive
Or a dual cpu (Xeon or AMD) will do fine as well. It all depends on what budget you have of course.█ IceBlueHost | Premium Quality Hosting Solutions

4 gb DDR2 ram or 2 Gb REG. ECC. would go fine.
Also SCSI hdd would be fine too..
CPU should be dual-core AMD Opteron or at least 4200+ dont prefer XEON coz Opteron is better than XEON with forums (mySQL and php releated things, especially vBulletin forums)
Hope this helps

I don't think that price is particularly high. Especially because you get 2 big hard drives and 4 GB memory.
But the question is whether you need such big hard drives? Is this just one site you plan to host on it?█ IceBlueHost | Premium Quality Hosting Solutions

if without management, too expensive
with management, nearly fair but still a bit expensive..

You obviously have it hosted now, what are the specs of the box it is currently on. What are the loads. iowait, swapping etc... then we can recommend something. Right now all we can say is yes if you get that big box it COULD run your forum but its all guesswork.

Try something like a dual core Opteron 275, 2 GB ram, 80GB hdd and bandwidth to cover what you need, shouldnt cost too much. And it would run a forum of that size with no problems. I host a large forum, and it runs fine on a dual core AMD Athlon 3800 with 1gb ram.
