    I saw that on PBS a couple of years ago. George Bush and his oil friends are behind this. Like they say money controls the world.

    I think the people who killed it were the ones who tried to mandate quotas on the industry. This was a car that had advantages under the right conditions and deficiencies that an enthusiast might gloss over, but an average consumer wouldn't. If it weren't for the threat of quotas the automotive industry might have been willing to start with that enthusiast base and invest in incrementally improving the product like so many other products before it. With quotas they would have been so locked into servicing overextended electric cars at a loss, that it was an incentive to make the project fail to avoid that.
