    If you need imagemagick, go with the full package, not just the perl module.

    Thank you, but what is diffrence between installing just a perl module and installing imagemagick? Can we install it from source or rpm? What would you recommend?

    If you install the imagemagick perl module you are installing the imagemagick perl module. If you install imagemagick, you are installing the imagemagick binaries, and libraries.

    You will need the full imagemagick if you want to screw around with imagemagick in php, or that command line stuff. If you just need imagemagick support to be built into perl, you just need to install the perl module.

    If you don't know what perl is, you really shouldn't be managing your own dedicated server.

    Do the following steps:

    wget ftp://ftp.imagemagick.org/pub/ImageM...eMagick.tar.gz
    gunzip -c ImageMagick.tar.gz | tar xvf -
    cd ImageMagick-6.2*
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared=yes
    make
    make install
    ldd `which convert`

    /scripts/realperlinstaller CGI::ImageMagick
    /scripts/realperlinstaller CGI::Uploader::Transform::ImageMagick
    /scripts/realperlinstaller PPresenter::Export::Images::ImageMagick

    The above perl modules are needed for the proper functioning of the Imagemagick

    Which is just like:

    yum install ImageMagick ImageMagick-perl

    except with more work and no automatic updates.
